Where is Columbia River Fly Fishing Located?
Columbia River Fly Fishing is located in the West Kootenay’s of BC, Canada, between Castlegar and Trail BC. We fish the Upper Columbia River from Arrow Lakes, past Castlegar, Genelle and Trail to the USA Border. We meet either at the boat ramp in Trail, Genelle, or Castlegar on your day of fishing.
What time of year do you fish?
The Columbia River is open year round, but our main fishing season is Spring, Summer and Fall. (April, May, June, July, August, September and October).
How many guests can fish at Columbia River Fly Fishing?
We have two guided jet boats and can fish up to 2 anglers in each boat. So a maximum of a party of 4 anglers at one time.
What kind of boats do you use?
We have two 18 foot center console G3 Yamaha Jet boats.
Do you supply the gear?
We supply rods, reels, lines and flies. Please bring your own waders and wading boots.
Are your guides experienced?
Yes, all three of our guides have years of experience on the Columbia River and river guiding.
What if I have never fly fished before?
We can take novices to experts, our guides are able to coach you in your casting.
I want to learn to Spey fish, is this possible?
YES! Our guide Bruce is a professional spey caster and instructor. He has competed in world championships before. He is ready and eager to teach you how to spey cast and fish.
Do I need to bring my own flies?
If you have some, definitely bring them! Otherwise our guides will have an assortment of flies available to use during your trip.
