Hello & Welcome
Matt and Kristy moved their family to the West Kootenays in 2017! After visiting and holidaying there themselves, they fell in love exploring and fishing in the area, and then decided to call this their second home!
Originally from the West Coast of Vancouver Island (and still living/fishing out there every summer), they now live in Genelle, BC – a small community nestled on the Columbia River between Castlegar and Trail, BC. The most special thing about this place is the Columbia River and the fish that live in it. Once we experienced it, we wanted to share it with everyone!
We now run a 2 boat guide service on the river. Matt fishes in the spring and fall, and our other guide Bruce who is Spey only fishes the fall.
Matt and Kristy have two kids, Madeline and Joe who also share their love for fishing! The family has taken up skiing and living the “Kootenay lifestyle” for the winter months. We are so excited to share this hidden gem and all the fishing it has to offer with you!
When we are not fishing the Columbia River you can find us on the West Coast of Vancouver Island fishing the ocean at Rugged Point Lodge – find out more about our ocean lodge here!
